With Muteem, your mute button is always within reach. Its a globally enabled shortcut, so you can use it without even bringing up the Teams window. No more frantic searching, just seamless communication.
The app serves as a companion to Microsoft Teams, enabling a mute/unmute shortcut for calls, especially when the Microsoft Teams is not in focus and cant be muted using built in shortcuts. Additionally, it provides a consistently visible call status in the menu bar.
Heres why its valuable and stands out from other mute apps available in the store:
1. While most apps mute/unmute the microphone system-wide, my app specifically toggles the mute button in MS Teams. This avoids the inconvenience of muting the microphone for the entire system.
2. With other apps that mute the microphone globally, you still appear as "unmuted" in an MS Teams call to other participants. Since my app directly interacts with the mute function in Teams, when youre muted via Muteem, others will see your muted status.
3. Theres a mute state synchronization between the app and MS Teams. Whether you choose to mute/unmute via MS Teams or through my app, the current status will always be accurately displayed in the menu bar.
Menu Bar Statuses:
1. Orange: The app isnt connected to MS Teams and needs configuration in the Settings.
2. Blue: The app is connected to MS Teams, but there are no active calls.
3. Red: You are in a Teams call, and your microphone is active (red indicates caution; be mindful of your speech as your microphone is live).
4. Green: You are in a Teams call, and your microphone is muted (green indicates safety).
